VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION

We need volunteers! Please donate a couple hours when possible in the days leading up to Arts Walk and/or during the actual event.

Some of the volunteer tasks include: painting, passing out torches, silk screening (we provide the materials), manning information booths, passing out literature, delivering art work, counting people, taking pictures of the event…

BUSINESS REGISTRATION

You can download the business registration Word .doc form here (if just clicking doesn’t work then right mouse click and select Save as on the link).

Also you can email Main Street Morgantown, Arts Mon or MAC for the form as well.  All forms need to be completed and returned by Thursday, September 3, (deadline).

ARTIST REGISTRATION (visual, performing and literary)

Morgantown is known for its lively cultural scene.  Dozens of visual and performing artists are proud to call this place home and we are proud to showcase them.  Many of the artists regularly exhibit regionally, nationally and some internationally.

As registrations are completed they will be listed below starting September 1, 2009.

Many businesses already have artists line up. However many do not and that’s where Arts Mon and MAC step in to help.  If you wish to participate as an artist and have not connected with a business contact us as soon as possible.

To register as an artist:

Please prepare a couple digital images of your work (if you are a visual artist) and email them to info@monartscenter.comor info@artsmon.org and mention ARTS WALK 2009 in the subject.

Include your name, email, phone, and website (if you have one) and a description of your work in layman terms (150 words of less).  Let us know how many works you have available to show or wish to show. (We recommend no more than 5-7 works).

If you are a musician or other performing artist let us know what you need such as electricity, space etc.

There is no fee for artists to participate.

Please only show already-completed-works in the Arts Walk. Trying to prepare new work after you register is not a good idea.

Artists who fail to deliver art to businesses/ArtsMon or MAC by the evening of the event after they have committed to business are ban from all future Arts Walks and are generally black listed by local galleries. We know who you are…

DO NOT BE A NO SHOW.

Tip:
Drop your work off early at the business on Thursday or Friday morning. You can also deliver your art works to Arts Mon or MAC anytime before Thursday October 1 and they will gladly distribute them to the businesses.

Note:
There is no insurance on any aspect of this event. You take on full personal liability for any damage to your work during transportation, storage, installation, display and removal.

(to date no serious damage or theft has occurred in the 10+ years of this event -knock on wood)
